As I read my devotions tonight I found this verse to be very encouraging, so I thought I would share it.
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for you souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” Matthew 11:28-30
Oh what sweet words these are to the believer. We need not seek to strive in our own strength, but cast our heavy burdens upon Christ because his yoke is easy and his burden is light. These last couple of weeks in nursing school have presented to be quite challenging and overwhelming and I so easily lose sight of truth. The very fact that Christ has died for my sins marks a huge burden that I no longer have to carry. All challenges or endeavor that is “heavy laden” pales in comparison to the burden of my sin and that has been cleared as far as the East is from the West. As I have meditated on this truth this week, God has given me much joy as I persevere through nursing school. Oh and I will just add that Thanksgiving breaks is right around the corner……which means that these four amazing people will be coming home in a couple of days...... yet another blessing that God is bestowing upon me!!!!! =)
